MD Community Band Day 2015 poster
The Montgomery Village Community Band, under the direction of Mr. Steven Wampler and sponsored by the Montgomery Village Foundation Department of Recreation, Parks and Culture, is proud to host the annual Maryland Community Band Day in 2015. This outdoor event will be held on Sunday, June 7, from 12 noon until 8 pm, at the Dr. Gordon W. Bowie Music Pavilion in South Valley Park (19003 Watkins Mill Road, Montgomery Village, MD 20886). The event is free and open to the public!

Started in 1989, Maryland Community Band Day features the delightful sounds of several community bands from around the state as they share their musical talents with other bands as well as large and satisfied audiences. Bands appear on stage in back-to-back 45 minute shows. The Montgomery Village Community Band has been a regular participant for many years, and last hosted the event in May of 2008. Now, seven years later, MVCB is hosting and playing once again, and is looking forward to an exciting event filled with varied musical selections, performed by talented bands from across the state. The band line-up includes Baltimore, Rockville, Olney, Annapolis, Williamsport, Columbia and Bel Air.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and plan to spend a delightful day or just a couple of hours with other music lovers listening to Maryland’s best! This event is free to attend. Food will be available for sale.

Maryland Community Band Day is subject to inclement weather and the event will move to Watkins Mill Elementary School, if needed. If relocation becomes necessary, information will be announced on the Montgomery Village Foundation weather line at 301-948-0110 ext. 6 and on our website at www.montgomeryvillage.com.
